The FEI WBFSH Dressage World Breeding Championships for Young Horses in Verden have begun. The six-year-olds kicked off the event. With an outstanding performance, the Secret/All Inclusive son Sir Gribaldi (breeders: ZG Aronis & Janssen, Oederquart) took third place with Germany’s Beatrice Arturi. It was only this spring that this radiant dark bay was awarded the Weltmeyer Prize. His career also began in Verden. Four years ago, he was licensed at the Niedersachsenhalle, and Gestüt Sprehe secured the impressive stallion. Sir Gribaldi received top marks in Verden for suppleness (9.0) and potential (8.9).
First and second places went to Denmark; both horses have Hanoverian roots. The winner, Faustino G. by Blue Hors Farrell/Sezuan, presented by Betina Jæger, traces back to the dam line of Notera. Second place went to Dizzy by Hesselhoej Donkey Boy/Zack, whose granddam, St.Pr.St. Las Palmas by Londonderry/Weltmeyer (breeder: Albert Kampert, Halle), once found her way to Denmark via the Elite Broodmare Auction. Merita Hagren was in the saddle of the chestnut mare.
As the very first starter, Lindenberg by Libertad/Destano (breeder: ZG Maak, Hamburg) and Jacob Schenk took to the arena and made a dazzling impression with a personal best performance. The black stallion is also a Weltmeyer Prize winner and was the 2024 Bundeschampion of four-year-old riding horses. The judges awarded him an 8.6 for his prospects and an 8.8 for his trot. With this top result, the pair finished in eighth place.
