Hanoverian Jumper Breeding Program (PHS)

In 1993, the Hanoverian Jumping Breeding Program (Programm Hannoveraner Springpferdezucht – PHS) was initiated. The aim of this breeding program is to give new impetus to the breeding of show jumping horses. Part oft the Hanoverian population is specifically geared towards the breeding of exzellent show jumpers. It was updated in 2023. A system of awarding stars * to mares was introduced.

The free jumping competitions of the Hanoverian Jumper Breeding Program in April have been showcases for three- and four-year old talents since 1997. Numerous careers have already begun in the Niedersachsenhalle in Verden.

29th Free jumping competition

Two mares won the free jumping competition oft the Hanoverian Show Jumping Breeding Programme: Noblesse S and Unica Tamar DB. “We saw many good horses with great potential,” said Heinz Meyer. The show jumping breeding expert judged the horses together with Thomas Schönig from the Hanoverian Society.

The best three-year-old was the Nevados S/Diamant de Plaisir daughter Noblesse S (breeder and exhibitor: Ernst Stahlhut, Stadthagen). She impressed the judges with her overview and consistency over the jump and received a straight “very good” for scope and jumping intelligence (26.7). The exhibitor was delighted to receive a stud fee voucher from the Sosath stallion station. Second place went to Samoa by Stolzenberg/Diacontinus (breeder and exhibitor: Zuchtbetrieb Marschalk-Pecksen, Elmlohe), who, as the first starter, set a benchmark that was not matched for a long time (25.5). Two mares shared third place (25.4). The Checkter/Glasgow van’t Merelsnest daughter Charlotte KHR (breeder and exhibitor: Karl-Henning Rollwage, Bockenem) and a bay by Zinedream/Stanley (breeder and exhibitor: Friedel Cordes, Westerwalsede), who is the half-sister of Sophie Hinner’s Bundeschampionesse Chacoona Cat. The dams of both mares had once finished second in the Niedersachsenhalle. A total of 25 three-year-olds were in the line-up.

The winner among the four-year-olds was hardly any less impressive. Unica Tamara DB by Utamaro D’Ecaussines/Casallco (breeder and exhibitor: Ausbildungsstall Duchac, Hann. Münden) had already competed in the Niedersachsenhalle last year. She cleared the jumps with confidence and lightness, demonstrating her great potential. She thus prevailed in a field of 13 starters, and the breeder received a stud fee voucher from the Celle State Stud. A tenth of a point behind came the Colestus/Balou du Rouet daughter Coco Jo PJ (breeder and exhibitor: Pferdezucht Dr. Jacobs GbR, Bierbergen). Her dam, Hann.Pr.St. Bamby Jo PJ, celebrated victory at the Hanoverian Show Jumping Masters for six-year-olds last November. The Jacobs family’s highly successful breeding programme celebrated another success at the Niedersachsenhalle in Verden with the third-placed horse, Dandy Man PJ by Diro/Embassy II.
