Stallion pre-selection

As part of the stallion pre-selection process, stallions are pre-selected for the Verden stallion licensing and stallion sales. The requirements for pre-selection and licensing are adapted to the respective age and stage of development of the stallions.

Pre-selection of dressage stallions

In October, the preliminary selection of young stallions with a focus on dressage takes place in Verden. During these days, the selection committee reviews around 60 young stallions, which must be presented in free-running, free jumping, and on hard ground. To the licensing, the stallions are then presented in free-running, on the lunge, and on the triangular track.

Pre-selection of jumping stallions

In October, the preliminary selection of young stallions with a focus on jumping takes place in Verden. During these days, the selection committee reviews around 40 stallions, which must be presented in free-running, free jumping, and on hard ground. To the licensing, the stallions are also presented in free-running, twice in free jumping, and on hard ground.
