The star of the OnLive YoungSTARS Auction of the Hanoverian Society was Fronida P, who was sold to a buyer in the United States for 38,000 Euros. The 81 foals achieved an average price of 6,911 Euros
When the expressive-moving Freigeist/Bonds filly Fronida P (breeder and exhibitor: Friederike Pelzer, Steinhorst) entered the auction arena following a short break for arena maintenance, she attracted not only attention but also fierce bidding. Two American clients engaged in an exciting bidding duel, one bidding online and the other on the telephone with auctioneer Wilken Treu. The successful dressage trainer on the phone ultimately prevailed, securing the filly for 38,000 Euros. Her dam is a full sister to the Celle State Stud stallion Barbarossa.
The auction opened with an outstanding group of colt foals. Head number 2, the exceptionally attractive Virtuoso TO by Vespasiano out of a Fürst Romancier dam (breeder and exhibitor: Tim Oltmann, Achim), entered the auction ring carrying the highest advance bid. A dressage stable from southern Hanover recognised his exceptional quality on site and purchased the dark bay colt for 20,000 Euros. He was followed by Verano, a son of Vjento out of a Chinook dam (breeder and exhibitor: Johannes Baumeister, Kranenburg), who surpassed that figure. Sold for 28,000 Euros, the bay colt is expected to be reared in Spain. His half-brother was also sold through a Hannoveraner Verband foal auction last year.
The showjumping collection offered quality throughout. The top-priced jumping prospect was Christina Aguilera by Codex One/Cornet Obolensky (breeder and exhibitor: Hof Brüning GbR, Ochtmannien). Her dam, St.Pr.St. Cameron Diaz, has already produced four offspring successful at advanced (S-level) show jumping competition and has been awarded three stars within the Hannoveraner Show Jumping Breeding Programme. The filly was knocked down for 12,000 Euros to buyers in Bavaria. Of particular interest as an eventing prospect is Duplexxamy by Duplexx/Jaguar Mail (breeder and exhibitor: Andrea Erdmann, Reinstorf). Her granddam is a half-sister to FRH Butt’s Avondale, the championship horse campaigned by Anna Siemers. She was sold to a new owner in Spain for 14,000 Euros.
