On Sunday, 26 July, the racecourse grounds in Verden will become a showcase for Hanoverian breeding. At the Hanoverian Foal Championship, starting at 10 am, the best foals of the 2026 crop from across the breeding region and from abroad will be presented. Around 120 excellent fillies and colts will be shown alongside their outstanding dams and will compete for the coveted white-and-yellow winner’s sashes.
The Hanoverian Foal Championship marks the revival of an event steeped in tradition. The horse breeding clubs have selected their finest representatives from the 2026 crop for Verden. They will compete in the classes ‘dressage fillies’, ‘dressage colts’, ‘show jumping foals’ and ‘eventing foals’. The Hanoverian Foal Championship offers a total of 30,000 euros in prize money as well as attractive non-cash prizes.
The Championship begins at 10 am. A Shetland pony race will also provide excellent entertainment, allowing visitors to share in the excitement. Winners will be decided by a draw. There are three prizes of two VIP tickets each for a day at the World Championships for Young Dressage Horses in Verden.
