The twelve best four-year-old mares and geldings qualified for a Class A dressage test via a riding horse test. This was a first in the long history of the Hanoverian Championships. With top marks, including a 9.0 for walk and submission, Iva Bella R by Asgard’s Ibiza/Bonifatius (breeders: Susanne and Volker Redderberg, Ahrensbök) secured the white-and-yellow winner’s sash with an overall score of 8.72. The bay mare, who had topped the second division two days earlier, was masterfully presented by Kira Goerens-Ripphoff. The dressage trainer celebrated a double victory: with Floria HE by Fürst Belissaro/Silberschmied (breeder: Ilsemarie Wrede, Freiburg), she came second (8.44). Third place went to Señor Meyer by Secret/Weltmeyer (breeder: Dr Ansgar Reyering, Mettingen) with Thomas Schulze (8.26).
