From 20 to 23 August, the Moritzburg State Stud was devoted entirely to the next generation of carriage-driving horses. The 25th Moritzburg Championships brought together the best four- to seven-year-old driving horses.

Among the four- and five-year-old driving horses, Bangor by Best of Gold/Royal Hit (breeder: Jörn Wedermann, Wangerland) claimed the title with Lea Marie Hemken. The Bundeschampionat also marked the 2021-born bay’s debut in competitive sport; he had never previously been shown in public. He descends from the Lobelle dam line, which has already produced the championship horses Federleicht (Robert Dover/USA), It’s Me (Ludger Beerbaum), FRH Little Lemon B (Andreas Dibowski) and, most recently, Cornet XL (Shaikha Latifah Ahmed Alkmaktoum).

Litus by Licosto/Rockwell (breeder: breeding partnership Klein & Mömeshein, Hennef), who is registered in the Rhineland, was crowned Bundeschampion among the six- and seven-year-old driving horses with Dominik Lübbecke. The licensed stallion is based at Warendorf State Stud. In 2024, the black completed the 50-day dressage performance test in Adelheidsdorf with a final score of 8.11, receiving a straight “very good” for his walk. His driver had only taken over the reins at the beginning of this year.
