With a strong team performance, the German U25 squad secured the team gold medal at the European Championships in Pilisjaszfalu, Hungary. The foundation for the title was laid by the Quantensprung/Laudabilis daughter Hann.Pr.A. Qence L (breeder: Limbecker GmbH & CoKG, Bernried) and Katharina Schuster. The pair, riding to personal bests, were the first German competitors to take the arena. The second-best result in the Inter II class was achieved by Hann.Pr.A. ZINQ First Vienna FH FRH by Vitalis/First Dance (breeder: Beekenhof GmbH & Co, Bomlitz) and Lucie-Anouk Baumgürtel, who are also among the favorites in the competition for individual medals.

For Germany’s national team coach Hans-Heinrich Meyer zu Strohen, who was honored last year by the German Equestrian Sports Foundation for his lifetime achievements, this marks yet another magnificent success. In his coaching career, he has so far won over 100 gold medals at European Championships with his protégés—an extraordinary feat in international youth equestrian sports.

In the Young Riders class, gold also went to Germany. As the top pair on the German team, Attractive (Rhld.) by AC-DC/Ehrentusch (breeder: Stephan Borgmann, Ostbevern) and Julie Sofie Schmitz-Heinen took the lead in the competition. The two had already won the title in the Junior category last year. “We saw a very strong performance from our team and are delighted with our narrow victory as a team at the European Championships,” emphasized German team manager Cornelia Albrecht.

The Danish team won the bronze medal. With the Dannebrog on their saddlecloth, Blue Hors Victor by Vivaldi/Stedinger (breeder: Gerd Janssen, Neuschoo) and Andrea Hamann Sand took their lap of honor.
