The first medals have been awarded at the European Dressage Championships in Crozet, France. With a truly brilliant performance, Mount St John Freestyle by Fidermark/Donnerhall/Atatürk (breeder: Stephan Kurz, Zöbingen) and Cathrine Laudrup-Dufour won the Grand Prix. They were the only pair to break the 80 percent score. They received the dream score of 10 twice in the protocol. This contributed significantly to the Danish team winning the bronze medal. Germany became European team champions, with the British team coming second.
In a sensational third place in the Grand Prix were the nine-year-old Zonik Plus (Rhld.) by Zonik/Hohenstein/Donnerhall (breeder: Dressage Plus, Amadora/POR) and Justin Verboomen. An individual medal is within reach, which would be the first for a dressage rider from Belgium.
