Stallion licensing and stallion sales

The young Hanoverian stallions, born in 2008, made a lasting impression. 16 of the 46 licensed stallions were especially honoured as Premium stallions, 10 of them had a dressage and six a show jumping pedigree. “We saw excellent dressage youngsters with top prospects for the future. For the show jumping stallions, Stakkato confirmed one more time that he is a top-notch for breeding and sport,” breeding and business manager and Dr. Werner Schade summarized the impressions of the licensing committee.

The quality of the two-and-a-half-year olds as well as the sales revenues were impressive. Euro 60,523 was the average auction sales price for the licensed stallions, the fifth best result of all stallion sales up to now. For the 40 non-licensed stallions, the average price amounted to Euro 20,963 which is the second best result ever achieved.

The highest price of Euro 300,000 was paid for a bay Sir Donnerhall I/Lauries Crusador xx-son (breeder: Bendicte Meyer, Boudler/Luxembourg – exhibitor: Detlef Ruddat, Kirchlinteln). The eagerly moving youngster will move to the Lower Saxonian National State Stud Celle.

The Premium stallion out of Cecile by Calypso II (recently nominated Hanoverian Mare of the Year 2010) was the most expensive show jumping stallion. Committed breeders from the Russian Federation paid Euro 140,000 for the full brother of Satisfaction. Breeder Rainer Schulz from Burgdorf and especially the exhibitors, Fabrizio Bonvirant and Emanuelle Nanni from Italy, were very happy about this result.

The most expensive non-licensed stallion was a Fidertanz/De Vito-son, bred and exhibited by Gerd Pigge, Lastrup, changing at Euro 95,000 to an approved training stable in Lower Saxony.

Exactly 50 percent was the export ratio for the licensed stallions, 38 percent of the non-licensed stallions were sold to nine different countries. The most eager customers came from Russia, followed by Austria and Spain. The two sales to the People’s Republic of China are certainly of special importance for the future.

The Stallion Sales was impressively opened with the presentation of the Premium stallions, followed by the nomination of Goldfever I as Hanoverian Stallion of the Year. In the presence of his successful progeny Georgia, Goldwing and Gotha and his owner Madeleine Winter-Schulze, his breeder Sigurd Hochmuth from Meerbeck was rewarded by the R+V/Vereinigte Tierversicherung with a respectable cheque and the valuable Wohlklang-statuette.
