New venue - remaining success. Because of the rebuilding of the Niedersachsenhalle, Hannoveraner Verband hosted the May Auction in the Hanoverian Riding and Driving School. A successful debut that couldn’t have been better.
Breeding and business manager Dr. Werner Schade opened the auction, praising the work of his team: „Within only a couple of weeks, the team succeeded in turning the Riding and Driving School into functional auction premises. The atmosphere is fantastic. Horses, riders and customers feel comfortable.”
The collection featured 77 three-to six-year-old Hanoverian horses. The eagerly moving bay mare Salenga by Samarant/World Cup (breeder: Sissy-Nadine Braband, Hanover – exhibitor: Dr. Klaus Behrens, Osterfeine) was top-priced horse. Regular customers from Great Britain invested Euro 45,000. Almost the same price was paid for the last horse of the auction: Sambreno by Santino/Brentano II (breeder: Otto Luevolding, Ankum-Druchhorn – exhibitor: Hermann Rövekamp, Vehrte) was sold at Euro 41,000. Spartakus by Silvio/Rabino (breeder: Werner Zwingmann, Dingelstaedt – exhibitor: breeding partnership Zwingmann & Richwien, Dingelstaedt) was the most expensive show jumping horse. Experts from Denmark paid Euro 34,000 for the promising show jumping youngster.
The May Auction closed with a record: An average auction sales price of Euro 14,451.94 has never been achieved before. 24 horses were sold at more than Euro 15,000. Especially customers from foreign countries used the auction to purchase Hanoverian futurity prospects. More than 60 percent of the horses will leave Germany.
Auction manager Dr. Guenther Friemel was very satisfied with the auction result: „The quality of the auction collection was excellent. Especially in economically difficult times, a reliable and trustful service and advice is more than important, and the result is that customers from 17 different nations benefited from our offer.”
