Belissimo M-son top-priced stallion
49 stallions have been licensed for breeding at the Hanoverian Stallion Licensing, 48 were put up to auction. Eight dressage and sixshow jumping stallions were awarded a premium. Top-priced stallion of this Stallion Sales was a Belissimo M/Weltmeyer-son, bred and exhibited by Heinrich Giesselmann from Barver. Stallion Station Paul Schockemoehle and the Danish stud farm Blue Hors purchased the bay stallion at Euro 310,000.
The average auction sales price for licensed stallions was Euro 53,760. Top-priced show jumping stallion was a premium stallion by Cornet Obolensky/Le Vainqueur (breeder: Ansgar Holtgers, Herzlake – exhibitor: Heinrich Ramsbrock, Menslage). He will move to Denmark, too. “Many stallions will stay in Germany and are available for breeding,” breeding manager Dr. Werner Schade said. 29 licensed stallions were sold within Germany. With five purchased stallions, Denmark was the number one as far as foreign sales are concerned. The Lower Saxonian National State Stud acquired three youngsters with interesting pedigrees. The Moritzburg and Prussendorf National State Studs purchased one stallion. The Hanoverian Society was completely satisfied with the quality of the stallions: “In addition to their breeding value, all stallions were excellent movers and are of great interest for both, breeding and sport.” The show jumping stallions had very interesting pedigrees with international bloodlines on sire’s side, combined with valuable Hanoverian dam lines.
The 43 non-licensed stallions were sold at averagely Euro 18,360. With Euro 80,000, a Rousseau/Del Piero-son (breeder and exhibitor: Pape GbR, Hemmoor) was the top-priced non-approved stallion. A training stable from Hesse won the exciting bidder’s duel.
Prior to the auction, the Hanoverian Stallion of the Year 2008 was honoured. Privately owned stallion De Niro by Donnerhall/Akzent II is the successor of show jumping stallion Stakkato. The shiny black stallion is not only an extremely successful competition horse, he has also a tremendous influence on the Hanoverian breed. Supported by R+V/VTV insurance company, breeder Brigitte Pahl, Fockbek, was honoured for this success.
