Top-priced Hanoverian foal sold at Euro 120,000

Third best result since introduction of Foal and Broodmare Auction

A stallion holder from a French stud farm paid Euro 120,000 Euro for "Quasar". The Quaterback/Wolkentanz I-son (breeder: Erika Lütjen, Grasberg/county of Osterholz-Scharmbeck) will grow up as stallion in Lower Saxony. The approved stallion San Saluto by Sao Paulo and various other Verden auction horses descend also from this dam line.

Experts from Denmark invested Euro 26,000 in Casparena ZH by Cassini II/Contender (breeder: Horst Zöllmer, Heiligenthal) who was the top-priced show jumping foal of the three-day auction.

Dakeur v. Dancier/Sixtus, bred by Elisabeth and Winfried Burkhard, Hattersheim, was the top-priced foal on the first day of the 34th Elite Foal and Broodmare Auction. The same buyers from Denmark spent Euro 75,000, the second highest price of the auction, for the dark-brown colt with the dressage pedigree.

All 316 presented and knocked-down foals were disposed at an average auction sales price of Euro 8,160.75. 65 foals were sold at more than Euro 10,000.  The export rate with 21 countries was 44% (139 foals). Danish customers purchased 34 Hanoverian foals. 13 will find their new home in France, each 11 in Italy and Sweden, 10 in Spain.

Euro 35,000 was the highest price paid for a broodmare. State premium candidate Bella Carmina by Belissimo M/Carbid, bred by Nicole and Frank Pistner from Kirchlinteln, will give birth to her St. Moritz-foal in Australia.

The 35 broodmares changed hands at averagely Euro 11,657.14, 14 of them were knocked-down to foreign customers.

The 34th Elite Foal and Broodmare Auction finished with the third best result since this sales event was held the first time. The approved mammoth event staged for three days ran without any problems.
